Ad Hominem

Ad hominem, short for argumentum ad hominem, is Latin for “to the man” or “to the person”. This fallacy is committed when the focus of the argument is diverted to the motives or character of the person creating the argument and not on the argument itself.

For Example:
A man is told that he can’t make the argument to support pro-life because he has not experienced giving birth and will never have to worry about the possibility of having a kid.

It shouldn’t matter whether or not the person making the argument is a man, if someone has a good argument for or against pro-life, we should look at it for the sake of the argument, not the person making it.
